Hands-On Tours

Art & Soul with Mural Highlights, 1-2 Days, Williamsport
See the world's largest 3-D outdoor portrait mural and hear the stories behind the art!

n  One-day tours include artist-lead guided driving tour highlighting the city's art and architecture with visit to the largest 3-D portrait mural in the world where group members will receive 3-D glasses for viewing the mural and hear the stories behind the art form their artist guide. Plus visits to historic churches and an artist complex featuring artists at work. 

n   We'll also include other sites pictured in the mural such as the Hiawatha Paddlewheeler riverboat.

n   Overnights include all these sites plus perhaps visits to the local culinary arts school for lunch and more hands-on activities and a visit to the Taber Museum  displaying a Tiffany-stained glass church window and art by Severin Roesen, one of Jackie Onassis favorites.

Chocolate! Chocolate! Chocolate!, 1 Day, Williamsport
Chef demo and riverboat cruise.  

We offer a hands-on class lead by one of the chefs at a Williamsport culinary arts school where you can also dine in the teaching restaurant and peek into the teaching kitchen!   

n Enjoy a chef demo class with a couple of volunteers helping create delicious chocolate   desserts.

n     For a natural pairing we will also include a Susquehanna River cruise with chocolate trufflettes and/or chocolate martinis for everyone!

Rolling in the Dough!, 1 Day, Williamsport
An enriching experience!  

Learn how to make gourmet grilled pizza during a chef-demo class and enjoy hearty samples for lunch during this tour in Williamsport. 

n  Get some "dough" yourself in the form of a "million dollar bill" during a Millionaires' Row Tour including visit to two grand historic buildings.

n End at a winery where you’ll learn how yeast turns juice into wine.  

*     Maximum group size for pizza class is 40. 

 

Holiday Know How Overnight, 2 Days, Lewisburg Area
A trip full of holiday spirit!

 

n  Lunch on own and browsing at Country Cupboard which features a special holiday section of its large gift shop.

n  Workshop tour at an artisan candlecrafters plus demo and browsing. Your group members will learn about the holiday tradition of bayberry candles at this site.  

n  Visit to the Slifer House Victorian Mansion for a tour highlighting holiday traditions of the Victorians and enjoy a hands-on opportunity to make a Victorian paper-star holiday ornament and directions to take home so you can teach others. We'll include holiday punch and cookies at this site. 

n  Gourmet dinner  including chef demo of bananas foster flambé with serving and recipe for everyone at a Victorian mansion restaurant, plus a reading of the new holiday classic "A Cup of Christmas Tea" which brings home the message of appreciating the holidays during what has become such a busy time of year.

n  Tour of Lewisburg's Sensational Sweets, a local chocolate company, to see candy being made and take home a sample as a special treat.

n  A visit to a home and garden store where you'll enjoy a demonstration on how to decorate your holiday tree with simple tricks of the trade that make all the difference. This site becomes a winter wonderland in early November with thousands of ornaments as well as swags, wreaths, etc. for sale.

n  Visit to a local winery for tour and hot wine wassail samples in the Penns Creek area.  


Barnyards, Vineyards and the Artisans In Between, 1-2 Days, Lewisburg
A day of backroad delights!

n     Browse at a Farmers Market featuring food and craft vendors as well as Penn Dutch items.  

n     Visit an artisan candy factory for a tour and browsing.   

n    Enjoy a presentation on growing and using herbs at a home and garden shoppe with seeds for everyone.  

n     Visit two wineries for tour and tastings with a special tasting of wine mojitos with the recipe for everyone at one of the sites.

n    Enjoy a workshop tour, demo and browsing at an artisan candlemaker. 

n     Tour of a working sheep farm and make a craft from felted wool.

         Plus dining options featuring the freshest local produce! On overnight adventures we can include activities at Ard's Farm Market in Lewisburg such as hog wrestling, line dancing or bingo.
