York County is full of great behind-the-scenes tours and interesting sites. Choose three of the sites listed below for a one-day guided tour or if you just can’t miss any, stay overnight!

n   Tour the Haines Shoe House for a unique peek inside this home shaped like a shoe! As a fanciful treat everyone will receive shoelace licorice during their visit! (Available any day of the week, late April through November.)

n    Visit Martin’s Potato Chip Factory to see chips being kettle-cooked and hand-raked in oil and perhaps pick a hot chip from the line! Everyone will receive a bag of chips or, during the holiday season, popcorn which Martin’s also makes to string as a tree decoration. (Tuesdays only.)

n   Browse among samples and great bargains at Stauffer’s Cookie Outlet  with a bag of ginger snaps for everyone. (Available Monday through Saturday, year round.)

n   Tour the Harley Davidson factory and receive temporary tattoos. (Weekdays, year round.)

n   Taste local vintages at Naylor’s Winery with a “375” split of wine for all. (Any day, year round.)

Let our guide lead the way while you concentrate on filling your bags. Choose three of the following activities for a custom one-day version of this guided tour or plan to include all the sites on an overnight.

n  Visit Colonial Candlecrafters for tour, hand-decorating demo plus jelly jar candles for all and of course a bit of time for shopping.

n  Stop by Country Farm & Home for browsing among fresh flowers plus home decor and collectibles. Everyone receives a gift such as garden seeds or bulbs, or a holiday ornament depending on the season.

n  Visit Shade Mountain Winery for an intro and tasting, plus "375" split of wine for everyone to take home!

n  Browse at a country market for a locally baked Whoopie Pie or on Wednesdays a farmer's market for fresh baked bread from Amish vendor.

n  Enjoy lunch on own or included at a local restaurant.

Martin’s Chips where you’ll see how chips and popcorn are made and take home popcorn to string on your tree, dine at San Carlo’s Restaurant for tasty holiday fare and receive a York Peppermint Pattie as a special memento, visit Stauffer’s Cookies for ginger snaps and enjoy a tasting plus split of wine at Naylor’s Winery for a seasonal glow.

    options, consider including a tour of the Haines Shoe House in Hellam which is like giant doll house shaped like a shoe! We'll
