Any of these tours can be turned into a great multi-day tour!

Erie's Place on the Bay, Erie 

Bay cruise & lighthouse views!

n  Enjoy a relaxing narrative and delicious luncheon while cruising Presque Isle Bay aboard the Victorian Princess.

n  Visit the Erie Maritime Museum which tells of the area's rich maritime heritage including Niagara, the warship that won the Battle of Lake Erie in the War of 1812. You may also have the chance to board the U.S. Brig Niagara, the reconstructed flagship of Pennsylvania, if in port.

n  Visit the Tom Ridge Environmental Center, a state-of-the-art facility teaching visitors about the unique 3,200 acres of Presque Isle through video and displays plus a 75-foot tall glass "lighthouse" offering great views.

NY Finger Lakes Wine & Garden Tour, 1 Day & Multi-day options available, N.W., NY
Wineries & Sonnenberg Gardens.  
 

n  Visit the magnificent Sonnenberg Gardens & Mansion in Canandaigua, NY where you’ll enjoy a tour of nine formal gardens in spired by ideas brought home to America by philanthropist Mark Clark Johnson from her many trips to Europe and Asia. Travel by foot or use the complimentary tram service to get around as you visit The Conservatory Greenhouse Complex, Rose Garden, Italian Garden, Blue & White Garden, Pansy Garden, Moonlight Garden, Old Fashioned Garden, Rock Garden plus a “secret garden” with fountain and the Japanese Garden, one of 100 Japanese Gardens in the US with a tea house.   

n  Tour the 40-room Queen Anne-style mansion which features 14 fireplaces, ornate woodwork, expansive porch and more, plus visit the onsite Wine Center if you wish!     

n  Explore more gardens, this time in the form of wineries along Lake Keuka and/or Lake Seneca known for their delicious wines including a variety of Rieslings which are a “Riesling to visit” just on their own. Additionally you’ll find chardonnay, ice wine, rosé, gewürtraminer, merlot, cabernet sauvignon, pinot noir and perhaps some you’ve not heard of before!

The Finger Lakes are becoming known not only for their wines but also for their breweries so on this tour we’ll include a bit of both and perhaps also a lap around the Watkins Glen International Raceway in your motorcoach! Available year round, early May through mid-October to include the raceway.

        Take Flight  

Combine winery tastings perhaps including a flight of wine with dinner, with visits to the National Soaring Museum and/or the Glen Curtiss Museum featuring vintage aircraft. Available year round

 

  

Engineering Marvels, Bradford area

 Celebrating the spirit of ingenuity!  

Tour an oil refinery and nore in the Bradford, PA area which is ready to impress with a variety of engineering marvels. Enjoy three of the following activities on a one-day tour, all of them and more on a multi-day trip.
 

n  Visit the American Refining Group’s plant in Bradford, the birthplace of the U.S. domestic oil industry more than 100 years ago. Tours limited to June, August and October, weekdays. Book early to ensure your tour spot.  

n  Tour the Zippo/Case Museum and Visitors Center in Bradford to learn about these American icons including how their design was developed and about the crackle lighter popular with WWII soldiers.  

n  Discover mountain majesty during a visit to the Kinzua Overlook plus see remains of the Kinzua Bridge, built in 1882 as the highest bridge in the world at the time.

Other area sites that may be included in this tour are the Seneca Allegany Casino, Seneca–Iroquois Museum, John Williams European Pastry where you can enjoy a casual lunch and visit with the executive baker while he’s preparing some of his signature treats and perhaps the Option House Restaurant dating back to the early 1900s when oil speculators negotiated oil (five million barrels daily) “option” contracts here.


 

Majestic Mountain Treasures, North Central, PA

Do you hear the call of the wild?  

On our one day version of this scenic tour you’ll learn all about PA’s wild elk herd at the new Elk Country Center in Benezette which offers a 4D film (it snows!), exhibits, meal and entertainment options plus the chance to look for elk on the grounds around dusk.

 

n  Visit the Kinzua Gorge outside of Mount Jewett to see remains of the viaduct which was once the longest in the world and which will be home to a glass-bottomed skywalk expected to open late summer/fall 2011. 

  Overnight tours may also include a visit to the Appalachian Arts Studio in Ridgway to see a chainsaw sculpting demo plus perhaps “play with clay”,  the Eldred WWII Museum and the Zippo/Case Museum in Bradford, plus dinner and gaming at the Seneca Allegany Casino.

  A step-on guide leads the way offering historic legends and lore.

n  Enjoy a ride on the Tioga Central Railroad traveling from Wellsboro Junction to Hammond Lake and back through a variety of natural habitats which are home to deer, otter, great blue heron, osprey and more.

n  Visit the PA Grand Canyon Overlook for scenic views of this natural wonder.

n  Dine at a local restaurant such as the Penn Wells Restaurant, Antlers or Log Cabin Inn, or make this an extra special trip by including tour and deluxe tasting at Patterson Farms, PA’s largest maple farm. Plus consider a new option of including a light lunch of soup and sandwich, or perhaps a full hot luncheon aboard the train!

n  Time may also be included to explore charming downtown Wellsboro.

B & O Hobo Hoedown

Tap your feet during a luncheon train ride while “Hobo Joe” provides musical entertainment plus enjoy a fun look at the hobo lifestyle of “flipping freights” with a hobo guide. Everyone will get a souvenir bandana for a bindle, plus start filling it with treats from a candy factory tour and laugh out loud as your hobo shows you the contents of his bindle including a washer and drier, portable telephone, and more.

n  Take in panoramic views from a PA Grand Canyon Overlook and learn how this gorge is now protected as a state park and contains the largest area of green between New York City and Chicago!

 A wonderful festival celebrating the age of Charles Dickens!

n  Explore charming Wellsboro and its annual Dickens of a Christmas Festival where vendors  
 offering food and crafts along with strolling entertainers, all dressed in Victorian attire, kick of 
 the holiday season.
